I love this work because time never stops except in a photograph. I am nostalgic to a fault. It's absolutely the little things for me. The feel of the windows down driving home from the beach, how my husband's face looks when I make him laugh, the scent of campfires or making breakfast, my sons' hands, cheeks, smiles, (all of it!)... I live for these things.
And I take the photos of you and your loved ones that I want to have of me and my loved ones.
While I am a creative, and a nature lover, and a homesteading, homeschooling, crunchy, slow-living old soul... I am a also a very hard-working perfectionist, a worrier, and an over-thinker. I do not take this work lightly. I've been doing this for close to a decade now, and I have found that my best work comes when I know my clients trust me and I can be true to myself. I want to be completely transparent about the kind of work I do.
I love family and nature. I love simplicity, coziness, and warm sun on a cold day. A perfect morning is sipping hot cups of tea and watching the steam that rises up from it in the early light as I sit at breakfast with my family. We're known to spend long afternoons on our backs and looking at the sky, baking banana bread, and watching the golden light disappear over the horizon. Take deep breaths, praise the Creator. I love slow, quiet, simple, organic, honest living. And I love capturing beautiful, vulnerable honesty and emotion in a photograph. If I chose three words to describe my work, they would be: ORGANIC, EMOTIVE, TIMELESS.
Along with photography, I also homeschool my children alongside my handsome, tan dreamboat of a husband. We love nature walks, making nourishing slow meals for our family, friends and even strangers! The best times are the ones with conversation, creating, sharing meals, singing songs... These are the memories I love to capture--the everyday, the in-betweens.
